Several women of the Gold and Black roster got lay out without explanation on Wednesday’s episode of NXT. After the attack, the likes of Candice LeRae, Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, and Tegan Nox were all motionless on the ground.
Kay Lee Ray was announced to be the final member of Team Baszler at WarGames during the ending moments of the show. NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler showed up on the entrance ramp to applaud Ray’s actions. SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley showed up to blindside The Queen of Spades and revealed herself as the perpetrator of the attacks.
After a reign atop the NXT UK’s Women’s division, Ripley came across the pond to join NXT. She relinquished the title to Toni Storm. Recently, Ripley joined the likes of Pete Dunne on the yellow and black brand. She stood up to dominant The Queen of Spades immediately after coming to NXT.
The two women’s had a match, but when Ripley attacked Baszler with a chair, the bout ended in an unsatisfying fashion. WWE Universe will witness the two on different sides of the ring at first ever Wargames involving women. However, it seemed as if that prior hostility was out the door after showing up on the recent SmackDown,
On this past Friday night, NXT invaded SmackDown once again. Ripley, during her appearance, appeared to aid Baszler on this week’s episode. Later, she offered up a simple explanation on twitter. Ripley stated that it wasn’t for Baszler’s benefit but to seek revenge for what happened on NXT earlier this week.
To clarify, we weren’t on #SmackDownOnFox to help Shayna. We were there to get retribution for Wednesday night on #NXTonUSA when SmackDowns coward women’s champion Bayley decided to attack us from behind. 👹
