What do you think of masked WWE superstars? Legendary names like Rey Mysterio, Ultimate Dragon & Kane probably come to mind. But you might realize that big superstar also wore masks.
Before coming to WWE AJ Styles has made a lot of historical memories in Japan. With his in-ring return in November 2017, the reigning IWGP Heavyweight Champion wore a mask to the squared circle. The Phenomenal Logo on one side, Japanese on the other &three words in the center. While competing in Japan, AJ Styles held the title; which was also won by Brock Lesnar & Vader. Styles woe out the mask once again in WWE return to WWE, the land of the rising sun, in July 2018 during phenomenal one’s 371 days WWE Championship reigns.
In 2015, Bray Wyatt was on a mission with everything possible to destroy Roman Reigns. So on the August 24th episode of Raw, Sister Abigail’s black sheep, Brown Strowman wore a mask. The Monster among men arrived in Black Sheep mask to lay down Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose. He continued to wear the mask till 2016 WWE Brand Extension Draw. Braun Strowman was the 48th pick in 2016 WWE Brand Extension Draw.
Creepy masks have been a signature of Wyatt’s family. Because on May 15, 2013, NXT episode, Bray Wyatt came wearing a mask of a scarier version. Wyatt also wears the mask against Corey Graves & in Battle Royal. He called his new look like the face of the fear. Bray was so dominant that night because he danced with his opponent before putting him down with Sister Abigail. And he made the mask come off.
Lucha House Party was significant on WWE. During January 2019 backstage interview, a masked John Cena interrupted Kalisto. He grammatically did signature “Lucha, Lucha, Lucha” taunt before vanishing. They claimed that the mask was a tribute to the legendary Juan Cena. Legends go that Juan Cena competed at WWE Live event in 2010, but those reports have not been fully confirmed.
