Tony Nese came out for his NXT return. Angel Garza was out next. He greeted some fans at ringside and got a kiss from one woman. Fans chanted for Garza as the bell rang. The winner of this match will challenge NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush for the title. They locked up and went back & forth. Garza strikes an early submission attempt, but Nese avoided it. They tangled on the mat some more and broke. Nese kicked Garza and took him down by his arm, grounding him. He kept control and showed off some by flexing.

They ran the ropes some, and Garza nailed a big flying headscissors for a pop while he warned Nese. Nese fired back with a big chop to the chest. Garza wanted more, and Nese hit him again. He told him to bring it again, and Nese delivered a big chop. Nese looked to take control as they went at it. Nese hit shots in the corner while the referee warned them. He ended up top, but Garza hit an Enziguri. Garza climbed up, but Nese fought him. Nese went for a Sunset Bomb from the top, but Garza slid out by his pants coming off.

Garza leaped to the top while we saw him in his trunks. He got a pop for the signature wardrobe malfunction, and then took Nese down from the top for a pop. Garza mounted offense. He landed big dropkick and sent Nese out to the floor. Garza hit a Wrecking Ball dropkick to send Nese back down on the floor. He went to the top and hit a big moonsault from the top to the floor. So, the fans went wild. Garza brought it back in and ended up hitting a backbreaker for a two count.

Further, they faced off in the middle of the ring. Garza yelled and went to swing, but Nese went under him. Nese delivered a big slam for another pin attempt. Garza kept control and dropped Nese again while fans chanted his name. He climbed to the top, but Nese jumped up and rocked him. Garza was on the apron, but Nese unloaded and swept him off to the floor. They both ended up on the floor, and Nese nailed a big DDT on the floor. Nese brought it back into the ring for the big 450, but Garza still kicked out at two.

They traded strikes while getting to their feet. The big strikes continued in the middle of the ring. Garza hit a sitdown powerbomb for a two count. He climbed to the top but landed on his feet. Garza hit a back kick to the face. He followed up with the Wing Clipper for the pin to win. After the match, Garza stood tall and went to the stage and looked out at the crowd.

However, NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush came out to the stage. Rush ended up offering his hand for a shake. Garza looked like he was about to shake back, but instead, he delivered a big slap to the face. He walked off while Rush smiled but then got serious. Mauro confirmed Garza vs. Rush for next week.
