Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro answered New Day’s call for a title bout

SmackDown Tag Team Champions – Kofi Kingston and Big E came out first. They hit the ring while fans were chanting for them. The New Day went on about Thanksgiving and Black Friday and opening their doors for tonight’s Open Challenge. However, the music interrupted, and Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro came out with Sami Zayn. Sami took the mic and told The New Day to shut up. He’s sick of them glamorizing a holiday like Thanksgiving and then Black Friday.

Fans started to boo Sami while he was going on from the stage. Sami shamed everyone for participating in the holiday. He said it’s time that the SmackDown Tag Team Titles are held by men who can see past the nonsense. Cesaro went off with Kofi for an early two count. They ran the ropes, and Kofi hit a big jumping uppercut for a two count. Cesaro rocked Kofi and tagged in Nakamura for a quick double team. Kofi nailed a dropkick for another two count. He fought Nakamura off from the corner.

Kofi climbed up, but Nakamura shut him down in the corner, dropping his neck over the rope. Nakamura went on and covered for a two count while Sami was cheering him on from ringside. Cesaro tagged back in and hit a big Gutwrench suplex, but Kofi kicked out. He kept Kofi grounded with a headlock. Big E tried to rally the crowd for the tag. Nakamura tagged himself in and decked Kofi. Nakamura delivered shots in the corner. Kofi tried to fight out of the corner, but Nakamura stopped the tag. Nakamura got rocked.

Sami ended up getting involved from the floor, dropping Kofi off the apron. Cesaro ran over with a big uppercut, knocking Kofi over and onto the announce table while Sami was watching. Finally, Big E tagged in. He hit belly-to-belly suplexes on Nakamura, and then a third while fans were cheering him on. Big E stood over Nakamura and danced, and then missed the splash. Nakamura drove big knees into Big E. He charged in the corner, but Big E caught him with an Uranage for a two count.

Big E played to the crowd and waited for Nakamura to get up. He scooped Nakamura, but he slid out. Cesaro tagged in, and they continued to dominate Big E while Cesaro came off the top with a flying headbutt for a two count. Cesaro went for the Neutralizer, but Big E back-dropped him. He hit an uppercut on Big E into the corner. Kofi came in and fought off Nakamura. Big E went to powerbomb Nakamura from the corner as Kofi came off the top with a big stomp for the huge double team.

Cesaro broke the pin up just in time while Sami was looking worried. Kofi ran the ropes, and Big E launched him out onto Cesaro, but Cesaro caught him with a huge uppercut, then one for Big E. Cesaro rolled Nakamura back in, then rolled Kofi in. Kofi blocked the Kinshasa and rolled Nakamura for a two count. Nakamura missed a kick and then nailed one. Nakamura hit another sliding strike, but Big E broke the pin. Cesaro sent Big E into the turnbuckles. He tagged in and took Kofi to the corner, unloading with uppercuts.

Cesaro ran into a kick into the corner. He caught Trouble In Paradise. They tangled, and Kofi got stuck on the ropes, then choked with the second rope while the referee warned Cesaro. The referee caught Sami trying to use the pancake platter and ejected to the back for a pop. Sami threw a fit at ringside while Cesaro was arguing with the referee. Kofi recovered as they wasted time. Cesaro charged, but Kofi ducked and nailed a Trouble In Paradise for the pin to retain.

Winners: SmackDown Tag Team Champion The New Day def. Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro

After the match, The New Day celebrated with the titles as their music hit. Nakamura checked on Cesaro.
