Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar at last year’s at SummerSlam to capture the Universal Championship. He didn’t keep the title for long, because Reigns was diagnosed with leukemia. The Big Dog didn’t have a choice but to vacate the title and leave WWE for an undetermined hiatus. The Architect became the face of the company in Reigns’ absence.
Earlier this year, Rollins won the Royal Rumble match. He went on to challenge The Beast Incarnate for the Universal title at WrestleMania 35 in the opening match of the show. Rollins defeated Lesnar, but not in a clean fashion, getting “The BeastSlayer” moniker. The Beast Incarnate cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Rollins at Extreme Rules, recapturing the Championship.
However, Rollins bested Lesnar in a clean finish to reclaim the coveted belt at WWE SummerSlam 2019. During Rollins’ initial run as Universal Champion, WWE Universe had turned on him at one point. The BeastSlayer had become a controversial figure following his Twitter exchange with NJPW star Will Ospreay. Fans showered him with “What!” reaction on an episode of RAW.
Recently, Seth Rollins reacted to a fan who taunted The BeastSlayer with a sign that said: “Seth Rollins is not cool” at Hell in a Cell. Here’s Rollins’ post;
Survive and Prevail is bigger than just what happens between the ropes. Question everything, even yourself, and fight your heart out every step of the way. #sethrollinsisnotcool

The Big Dog opened up about this period during Rollins’ reign as Champion. Also, Reigns acknowledged that he bounced back from the same. He quoted the following while speaking with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso.
“I was so proud of him and what he did at SummerSlam against Brock Lesnar. He obviously had one of those weeks where the Twitter machine and the internet went nuts on him, but he bounced back and answered the call.”
