Tonight’s WWE RAW opened live from the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. The pyro exploded and fans cheered. Tom Phillips welcomed us, joined by Byron Saxton and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler at the announce table. He sent us to a video package showing what Randy Orton did to WWE Hall of Famer Edge last Monday. Randy Orton came out to the ring while fans gave him a mixed reaction, mostly boos.
In addition, Tom relayed the WWE Now report from earlier today. The report said Edge is back at home recovering and awaiting test results from several he had done over the past week. Plus, it said that the Rated R Superstar will provide an update to his fans early next week. Orton took his time getting into the ring and slowly leaned on the ropes. So, fans started booing louder. A “you suck!” chant started up.
Orton entered the ring and leaned on the top rope in the corner, taking it all in and thinking while the boos continued. He slowly stood on the second turnbuckle and looked out at the crowd. The Viper hopped back down and continued slowly walking to the other continue. Orton said he guesses he owes everyone an apology. The boos got louder. You see, the thing… Orton kept stopping as the boos drown him out.
Meanwhile, fans chanted “Edge!” He stopped and started to talk again but a “you suck!” chant shuts him down. Orton said he can’t… he can’t do this. He put the mic down and exited the ring while the crowd got louder. Orton stopped at ringside to think about it all again. He walked off to the back, exiting to the side instead of going backstage through the stage. The boos continued.
