Matt Riddle confronted Roderick Strong in singles match


NXT Tag Team Champion Matt Riddle came out. Roderick Strong was out next for what Tom called the main event match of the night. Back and forth to start the match. Riddle took control and worked Strong over in the corner. The referee backed Riddle off while Strong yelled at them both. Riddle nailed a gutwrench suplex. There’s some more stalling before they locked up again.

Strong ended up unloading with chops to the chest, knocking Riddle down. Riddle fought back with forearms. Strong tried for an Olympic Slam for a second time but it’s blocked. He counters again with a big enziguri. Strong went on and hung Riddle up over the top rope. Riddle fell to the mat in pain while Strong showed off some. Here came the commercial.

After the break, they traded strikes. Riddle unloaded and nailed a pele kick to drop Strong in the corner. He delivered a big forearm and a running right hand in the corner. Riddle nailed the Exploder suplex. He went for the punt kick but Strong countered and applied the Boston Crab. Riddle got free and dropped Strong with a Bro 2 Sleep. He then went right into a German suplex for another close two count.

Strong blocked the Bro Derek. He delivered a big shot in the corner and then the Olympic Slam for a close two count. Strong showed some frustration. He blocked two more shots and nailed a jumping knee strike. Strong ran in with a forearm but Riddle caught him on the next charge and dropped him with the Bro Derek for the pin to win out of nowhere.

After the match, The Original Bro stood tall as his music hit. Suddenly, Indian Superstars Saurav Gurjar and Rinku Singh hit the ring and destroyed Riddle. Riddle fought back but they beat him down again in the middle of the ring. The double team continued as Singh and Gurjar stood tall over Riddle.

Manager Malcolm Blivens came walking out with a mic, taunting Riddle. Blivens said with Riddle’s partner Pete Dunne on the other side of the world, he thought now was the perfect time to introduce Riddle to the future of the NXT tag team division. That’s it, their names were never given but Blivens, Singh and Gurjar stood tall over Riddle to end the segment.
