Isaiah “Swerve” Scott came out first and hit the ring. Mauro Ranallo, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix, and Nigel McGuinness were at the announce table. Scott hit the double-ring setup. Angel Garza was out next. They went at it to start trading counters. The two showed each other up and traded slaps. Scott sent Garza to the floor for a takedown. He brought it back in the ring for a two count. Scott delivered a big chop and another. He slammed Garza face-first into the mat.
Scott kept control for another two count. He mounted offense while the fans were chanting “Swerve!” Scott climbed to the top rope and flew, but Garza rolled through and launched him into the turnbuckles. Garza ripped off his pants for a pop from the crowd, then tossed them at Scott and hit a superkick off the distraction. He covered for a close two count. Garza hit an inverted springboard suplex and another superkick, but Scott kept kicking out. He taunted Scott and kept him down.
Garza got rocked, going into the corner. He turned it around and hit a big dropkick in the corner for a two count. Garza went to the middle for a moonsault but missed, and Scott leveled him. Scott hit a double underhook into another suplex for a two count. They traded big shots in the middle of the ring. Garza ended up taking Scott down with a big sitdown powerbomb for a close two count. He beat on Scott and kept him down. Garza climbed to the top, but Scott leapt up with him. He jumped into a Fireman’s Carry on the apron.
Scott hit a big Death Valley Driver on the apron. Garza fell to the floor, and Scott followed up with a big stomp to the chest. So, the fans popped and chanted “you got swerved!” Scott brought it back in and played to the crowd. He went to put Garza away in the middle of the ring, but Garza kicked out. Scott got pushed back into the referee. He blocked a low blow kick. Garza then caught a kick from Scott. However, this led to Garza hitting the Wing Clipper in the middle of the ring for the pin to win.

After the match, Garza stood tall, and Garza continued celebrating before heading to the back.
