Io Shirai came out first. Mia Yim was out next. Shirai shoved Yim to start. They went at it, and Yim took Shirai down first. Yim hit a big boot in the corner for a two count. She ducked an enziguri while fans did dueling chants. Yim sent Shirai out of the ring with an Atomic Drop. She hit a baseball slide dropkick, sending Shirai into the barrier. Yim worked Shirai around the outside of the ring while the referee counted.

Fans chanted for more chops and Yim delivered. Yim brought it back into the ring, but Shirai kicked her back to the barrier. Shirai brought it back into the ring. Yim tried to turn it around, but Shirai stopped her and showed some frustration. Shirai hit a Flapjack in the center of the ring. She kept control for another pin attempt. Yim avoided double knees in the corner. She blocked a Tiger Bomb.

Shirai countered, but Yim tossed her with an overhead throw. Fans did dueling chants while both were down. They traded strikes and countered in the middle of the ring. Yim hit a lariat and more offense. She dropped Shirai with a dropkick. Yim took out the knee and delivered a basement dropkick for a two count. She hit kicks while Shirai was on her knees. Shirai countered with a hurricanrana for a two count.

She dropped Yim into the ropes and nailed a 619. Shirai springboarded in and hit the missile dropkick for another pin attempt. She showed some frustration. Yim fought Shirai off and hit Code Blue for a two count. Shirai went to the floor for a breather, but Yim ran the ropes and hit a big suicide dive.

Fans chant “NXT!”  Yim was up top, but Shirai had climbed up, rocking her, but Yim fought back. Shirai climbed up to the top for a superplex and nailed it. She was slow to make the cover and Yim kicked out at two. Shirai kept control and went back to the top, nailing the moonsault for the pin to win. After the match, Shirai stood tall, and she posed on the top while Yim recovered.
