It’s time for the main event segment. The familiar music started up in the arena. Besides, we saw security backstage at the locker room door of WWE Hall of Famer Bill Goldberg. They knocked and he came out. Goldberg marched to the ring and stopped for the usual pyro. He hit the ring while fans were chanting his name and cheering him on. Goldberg said damn it’s good to be back.
It’s been a long time since he’s said this in the ring at SmackDown. So, he’s going to take his sweet time and enjoy it. Goldberg addressed WWE Universal Champion “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt to a pop. He said whoever and whatever you are, know this – I’m ready. However, the Firefly Fun House music interrupted and we saw Wyatt on the big screen. He’s startled as he was busy coloring in some of the eyes on the photos hanging up on the wall.
Wyatt started with the jokes and mind games but Goldberg wasn’t here for those games. He knows Wyatt and he’s ready to end him. Wyatt said Bill doesn’t know him at all and he isn’t taking anything. He wanted them to get to know each other before Super ShowDown. Wyatt introduced some of his special friends – the various Firefly puppets. Last but certainly not least, Wyatt know someone who has been dying to meet Goldberg, he said with a more serious tone.
The lights went out in the arena and then they came back on. Goldberg took the mic and said it must be The Fiend, and he must be right behind him. He turned around and as he predicted, there was The Fiend. So, fans chanted for Goldberg. They both immediately charged at the same time but Goldberg dropped Fiend with a Spear. Graves said The Fiend is hurt. Cole said Goldberg isn’t done.
Goldberg told The Fiend to bring it and he slowly gets up . The lights went back out while fans booed. The lights came back on and The Fiend was nowhere. Goldberg laughed and noded his head like that’s what he thought would happen. We heard Wyatt’s laughs echo out across the arena. Goldberg hit the corners to pose while fans were chanting for him. Cole plugged Super ShowDown as the go-home edition of SmackDown on FOX went off the air.
