Kevin Owens faced Elias in tonight’s second King of the Ring tournament match. Elias dropped Owens first and went to work. Fans did dueling chants. Finally, Owens turned it around and mounted offense. He clotheslined Elias over the top rope to the floor. Owens ran the ropes for a dive, but Elias moved. Owens puts the brakes on and steps out to the floor, keeping control along the barrier. Elias countered and launched Owens into the barricade. He brought it back into the squared circle as they went back and forth.
Owens delivered a big German suplex and then a cannonball in the corner. Elias still kicked out at two. However, the music interrupted and Shane McMahon came out for watching the match from ringside. So, Owens was concerned. Elias remained in control. Owens tried to fight out and made a comeback. But Elias dropped him with a jumping knee for a two count. Meanwhile, Shane was watching from his ringside chair. Elias unloaded in the corner and bested Owens down. He hit a running knee to the face in the corner.
Elias scooped Owens for a powerslam for a two count. He kept Owens grounded. Owens fought up and nailed colossal DDT for a pop. He keeps fighting and hit a dropkick from the second rope. Owens went on and hit a senton. Elias avoided a Pop-Up Powerbombed to Owens. Owens went to the corner, but Elias got him on his shoulders. Elias dropped Owens with a big powerbomb and held it for a two count while Shane applauded. He took Owens to the top for a superplex, but Owens fought back.
Owens sent Elias to the mat and went for the big senton. But Elias got his knees up, and Owens lands on them. He charged, but Owens sent him over the top rope to the floor. Owens hit a cannonball from the apron to the floor. Fans cheered while Owens got hyped up on the outside. Moreover, Shane ended up approaching Owens. He took off his jacket to reveal a referee jersey.
Shane started counting Owens out, and he got upset. He entered the ring and talked to Owens, allowing Elias to deck him from behind. A furious Owens fought Elias off and had words with Shane. Elias blocked the Stunner and tried to shove Owens into Shane, but Owens put the brakes on to avoid hitting Shane. Thus, Elias took advantage and rolled Owens up while Shane counts a swift count for the pin to win. Elias and Shane head up the ramp after the match as Elias advanced in the KOTR tournament.
