Cesaro came out with Shinsuke Nakamura for tonight’s next Money In the Bank qualifying match. We saw the MITB briefcase hanging above the ring and there were ladders all over the Performance Center arena. Daniel Bryan came out with Drew Gulak. The bell rang and they went at it. Cesaro dropped Bryan with a shoulder first. Cesaro went on but Bryan launched him over the top rope to the floor. Bryan ran the ropes and nailed a suicide dive, sending Cesaro over the announce table.
The screen started flashing and we saw the mystery hooded man in the control room setting once again. He said we have heard all the lies, but when will we hear the truth? We saw “THE TRUTH” flash over the screen. Then, we saw flashes of several tag teams – The Usos, Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, John Morrison & The Miz, Bayley & Sasha Banks, The New Day. “THE TRUTH” flashed again. The man said to keep your friends close, but others closer… he pressed the button and “THE TRUTH WILL BE HEARD” flashed on the screen again with the usual graphics. Here came the commercial.
After the break, Gulak cheered Bryan on while he was grounding Cesaro and focused on his arm. Cesaro ended up overpowering and launched Bryan across the ring. The referee checked on Bryan as Cesaro kept control. Cesaro hit a big kick to the back to keep Bryan down. He hit another big scoop slam for a two count. Bryan fought in from the apron and climbed to the top but Cesaro caught the crossbody.
Cesaro powered Bryan up with one arm and drove the knee to the spine for a two count. He applied the Sharpshooter. Bryan dragged himself over and reached the bottom rope but Cesaro took advantage of the count. He went to the floor for a breather. Cesaro followed and charged, dropping Bryan against the barrier with a big running uppercut. Here came the commercial.
After the break, Cesaro blocked a backslide. He countered but Bryan landed on his feet. Bryan took Cesaro down into an armbar in the middle of the ring. Cesaro powered Bryan up but Bryan took the leg out. Bryan kicked Cesaro’s bad arm. Bryan unloaded with kicks but Cesaro still kicked out at two. Cesaro turned it around with more big offense. Bryan kicked out at two but Cesaro went right into a Crossface. He turned that around and looked to go for a Yes Lock.
Cesaro resisted and covered for a two count. They traded pin attempts until Cesaro leveled Bryan with a big clothesline. More back and forth until Bryan ended up countering an armbar and applying the Yes Lock. Nakamura tried to interfere but Gulak pulled him back and sent him into the barrier. Bryan kept the Yes Lock applied until Cesaro tapped out.
Result: Daniel Bryan def. Cesaro
Post-match, Gulak hit the ring to celebrate with Bryan. Bryan and Cole hyped the special Money In The Banks match from WWE HQ.
