CM Punk made his long-awaited return on the latest edition of WWE BackStage. He took on WWE‘s current angles and backstage news on the FS1 show.
Former WWE Champion opened up on Ronda Rousey’s recent comments on the WWE Universe and the company. Former RAW Women’s Champion had dubbed the fans as being ungrateful towards her when she was an active performer. The Baddest Women on the Planet also put down WWE by calling it “fake fighting”.
Her comments garnered quite a loud reaction from the WWE Universe. Later, Ronda posted a tweet hinting that she was working the fans and they bought it.
WWE BackStage Analyst stated that he loved Rousey getting the fans all worked up and triggered by her comments about pro-wrestling. Punk also said that wrestling is at its best when the lines are blurred.
Punk is regarded as one of the greatest mic-workers in the history of WWE. On an episode of RAW in 2011, his legendary pipebomb promo blurred the lines between fiction and reality. He broke the fourth wall and mentioned names like Hulk Hogan, Colt Cabana, and Brock Lesnar. The summer of 2011 saw Punk cutting such promos on a regular basis.
